Father's Day!

Today we have great chance to give gratitude to our Fathers of the great things that have done for us. Yes, all dads are different, as all human beings are different but we get to rejoice in the different things they have taught us in our lives. My dad is awesome, he is and has always been a great example for me in always follow my Savior Jesus Christ in both hard and good times. He taught me to work hard for the things that I wanted and needed. He taught me things that nobody else could both through his actions and through his kinds words.

My Dad with my little brother Landen 3 mo.
"Parents have a sacred duty to rear their children in love and righteousness, to provide for their physical and spiritual needs, and to teach them to love and serve one another, observe the commandments of God, and be law-abiding citizens wherever they live.... By divine design, fathers are to preside over their families in love and righteousness and are responsible to provide the necessities of life and protection for their families."

To be a father is a special role, with certain respon sibilities and also with special blessings that come with this duty. To be a father is a gift from God. I will be forever grateful for my Dad, for all the things that he taught me and helped me grow into the person that I am today. I could go on and on but it is sufficient to say thank you!

Some of us may be without a good role modal as a dad here on earth for one reason or another, but we all have a loving Heavenly Father. He is better then any earthly father we could ever have because he has an infinitive amount of love for us. He is perfect.
"God is the Almighty Ruler of the universe. He made the moon, the stars, and the sun. He organized this world and gave it form, motion, and life. He filled the air and the water with living things. He covered the hills and plains with all kinds of animal life. He gave us day and night, summer and winter, seedtime and harvest.
God is the Supreme Being in whom we believe and whom we worship. He is all-powerful and all-knowing, and He is full of love, mercy, charity, and compassion. He is the Author of the plan for our happiness." (Lds.org) and He is our Father, He loves us, every single one of us, personally. Being a father is such a sacred role that God wants us to show our love and respect by addressing Him as our Heavenly Father, because we are truly His children. We can talk to Him and tell Him the things that are happening in our lives, we can develop a relationship with Him through prayer and faith. Just as we ask our earthly fathers for things that we need and want, such as a new car or money,(which never really works does it?) we can ask for things from our Heavenly Father.

"7. Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
8.For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
9.Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
10.Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
11.If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?" (Matthew 7)
Our Heaven Father, being perfect, will help us grow and progress and help us work for the things that we need. On this beautiful day, let us give thanks to all we have, let us express love and gratitude to our fathers.

Happy Father's Day Dad!
